Summary of Achievements in the Year 2020
The Mission of “In My Father’s House” (IMFH) is committed to its Projects of First Evangelization and of Lifesaving Social Intervention, of being the Home for the homeless and the vulnerable and a source of hope for the hopeless.
The organization, deeply rooted in the Missionary Vision and Goals of the Comboni Missionaries, believes that this is a sure way of ‘Witnessing the Good News”’ to the world and reassuring the neglected and the marginalized that the GOOD LORD still cares for them (Pope FRANCIS).
This year 2020 due to the Pandemic IMFH invested most of its resources both cash and human into the protection and preservation of the life of the vulnerable especially children in the entire country Ghana. The following is the summary of its major accomplishments.
- Provision of maximum care and protection for over 80 children during the Lockdown. IMFH is one of the few Children’s Villages that had been able to keep, protect and care for over 80 vulnerable children during the “Lockdown”. The Panic situation was well and effectively managed to ensure that Intensive Care and protection is offered to all the children to keep them safe and sound.
- Rapid response to the Pandemic situation, adjusting and setting the infrastructure to prevent the infection and spread of the disease. IMFH proactively adjusted and created the needed Infrastructure and made available the necessary logistics ahead of time. Corona Virus alerts and education was effectively carried out. This facilitated the prevention of infection and spread of Covid-19 in the Children’s Village.
- Adopting the most effective and efficient Boarding system to facilitate IN-HOUSE Schooling of the children: IMFH had successfully quarantined and accommodated 68 day students of the IMFH Basic School Complex learn and write their examination successful. These include 29 JHS form 3 students and 39 JHS form 2 students.
- Reaching out to Remote Communities with Social Intervention Programme in 8 Administrative Districts and Municipalities of the South East of Ghana. IMFH continues to maintain and to build new structures for teaching practices, residential purposes and community worship. This year ork has been done on Sasiekpe 6 unit classroom block, Bakpa-Vedo Mission House, Gafatsikope and Dadome Mission Residence all are at various stages of completion.
- Faithful to its Mission IMFH continued operating a Charity and Sponsorship programme in support of over 700 young needy people and their families. Providing them with financial and material aid, as well as furthering their education academically and in the learning of a job for their self-reliance.
- Free Special Education, Health Services and Physiotherapy were offered to Over 64 handicap children: Physically challenged, Hearing and Speech Impaired, Low Vision and totally Blind People.
- IMFH has handled and followed up on many sick people and 4 new cases of very seriously sick children and life threatening pathologies. In the process Sandra Axatse was successfully operated, full medical support was given to these new cases while still monitoring and supporting old one to ensure their full recovery.
- INFH IS 20 YEARS OLD THIS YEAR: IMFH had been dedicated to bettering the lives of the Vulnerable and making them believe that the Good Lord still care about them. We are 20 years old this year.
Our GOOD LORD continues calling us individually and collectively. Let us not look at our strength but at the power of His calling. To Him we are grateful for the gift of this Mission of “IN MY FATHER’S HOUSE”.
